MORE Spotlight! ⭐ READS Lab research was featured in the MetaMetrics, Inc. October 2025 Reading Research Recap with Neena Saha, PhD. Neena highlights that when scaling an intervention, the Model of Reading Engagement (MORE) provides a model of how teacher adaptations and researcher fidelity can coexist.

READS Lab believes that in order to scale evidence-based solutions, we need to move beyond rigid fidelity measures, but to maintain effectiveness, should still adhere to the core principles that led to the research results.

But how do you do that? Create structures that facilitate teachers and schools to adapt to their students and local context while understanding what is “nice to have” versus a core component.

The study found that classrooms who were provided guidance and encouraged to adapt MORE (Adaptive MORE) showed better science background knowledge and content reading comprehension than those who were provided no guidance (Core MORE). This study emphasizes the need to continue researching how fidelity and structured adaptations can coexist while scaling effective programs.
