Learn the READS Reading Routine for fiction books:

Step 1: Before you read:

Follow along with Ms. B as she teaches you how to make a "story prediction." What?! You think you already know how to do that? Well, I bet you've never seen it look like this before (14 minutes).

Step 2: Read the story: 

Listen as Ms. B reads aloud the first chapter of Frog and Friends: Party at the Pond (5 minutes).

 

Step 3: After you read:

Watch Ms. B check her story predictions (5 minutes)

and

answer the comprehension questions on your own. 

Learn the READS Reading Routine for nonfiction books:

Step 1: Before you read:

Follow along with Ms. B as she teaches you how to make a "main idea prediction." What?! You think you already know how to do that? Well, I bet you've never seen it look like this before (8 1/2 minutes).

Step 2: Read the story: 

Listen as Ms. B reads Do Frogs Drink Hot Chocolate? (13 minutes).

 

Step 3: After you read:

Watch Ms. B check her main idea predictions (3 minutes)
